Mail server connection check

Check mail server connectivity before delivery.

Your input is processed by this site to return the result. Avoid entering sensitive information.

What does this tool do?

This tool checks public mail routing, SMTP connectivity and whether an advertised STARTTLS connection presents a certificate valid for the mail server.

Why is it useful?

It can help isolate configuration and connectivity problems when used with server logs and provider guidance.

How to use it

  1. Identify the affected sender, recipient and time of the issue.
  2. Enter an email address for a domain you are authorized to check.
  3. Compare the result with mail server logs and the relevant provider’s guidance.

What the result can and cannot tell you

The connection check sends no message and cannot establish that a mailbox exists. When an authorized test message is enabled and its code is confirmed, it confirms receipt of that message only; it does not guarantee future delivery.
